The Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, alongside Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and a delegation led by Seyi Tinubu, on Friday in Benin City, Edo State, launched the City Boy Movement South-South tour to strengthen youth participation in governance, promote President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, and bridge the gap between leadership and young Nigerians through structured mobilisation and grassroots engagement.
CBM Begins South-South Political Youth Tour in Edo State
The City Boy Movement officially commenced its South-South regional tour in Edo State.
The group arrived with key leaders and youth mobilisers.
It aims to deepen political awareness among young Nigerians.
In addition, it promotes civic participation across the region.
Olawande Calls for Stronger Youth Inclusion in Governance
Olawande described the movement as a bridge between leaders and youths.
He said young people must play strategic roles in nation-building.
Furthermore, he explained that the tour will inspire youth across the South-South.
He also stressed sustained engagement through outreach programmes.
Okpebholo Endorses Tinubu’s Leadership and Policy Direction
Governor Monday Okpebholo welcomed the delegation warmly in Edo State.
He praised the group for selecting Edo as the starting point.
According to him, the movement reflects organised youth political participation.
Moreover, he expressed confidence in Nigeria’s future under structured leadership.
Okpebholo also commended President Bola Tinubu’s subsidy removal policy.
He noted that previous administrations avoided the decision.
However, he said Tinubu acted boldly without creating instability.
