President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the death of Dame Ezinne Mary Oduah Amaechi, the mother of former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, who died at the age of 89. In a condolence message released on Friday, the President praised her lifelong commitment to the Catholic faith, strong family values, and dedicated service to humanity while extending sympathy to her family and the people of Rivers State.
Tinubu Pays Tribute to a Woman of Faith
President Tinubu described the late Dame Ezinne Mary Amaechi as a woman whose life reflected love, sacrifice, kindness, and perseverance.
According to the President, her unwavering faith and commitment to raising children who served society left a lasting legacy. He noted that these virtues earned her respect from everyone who knew her.
President Urges Family to Find Comfort
Furthermore, President Tinubu encouraged the Amaechi family to find strength in the remarkable legacy Dame Amaechi left behind.
He said her life of faith, dignity, and service would continue to inspire her children, the Catholic Church, and society at large.
Condolence Message to Rivers State
Expressing his heartfelt sympathy, President Tinubu said:
“My heartfelt condolences to Rt. Hon. Amaechi, the entire Amaechi family, the Catholic faithful, and the government and people of Rivers State over the loss of Dame Ezinne Amaechi, a champion of faith whose life was marked by humility and selfless service to humanity.
“May Almighty God grant her soul eternal rest and comfort all who mourn her passing at this difficult time.”
The President prayed for God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give comfort to her loved ones during this period of mourning.
