Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai, have arrested a 15-year-old suspect, Tijjani Madu, in Ngamdu, Borno State, on Sunday. Authorities linked him to the Thursday attack on a military base that killed Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and several soldiers. The arrest followed intelligence tracking of insurgent movements between Jilli, Benisheik, and Ngamdu.

Suspect Confesses Role in Attack

According to a video obtained by News Point Nigeria, Tijjani Madu admitted involvement in the attack. He spoke in Hausa with a strong Kanuri accent.

He said the group moved from Jilli before the attack and returned there afterward. He also confirmed participation in attacks on Benisheik and Ngamdu.

Furthermore, he revealed that commanders sent him back to Ngamdu with N850,000 to purchase logistics. However, troops intercepted and arrested him before he completed the mission.

Details of Movement and Operations

The source also stated that investigators are working to extract more intelligence from the suspect. This could lead to further arrests and prevent future attacks.
