The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the 2026 UTME results for 632,788 candidates who sat for the exam on Thursday, April 16, 2026, across Nigeria, while also arresting two candidates and one parent for result falsification using AI tools.

How to Check 2026 UTME Results

Candidates can now check their results quickly through SMS.

To do this, send “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.

However, JAMB clarified that result slip printing is not yet available. Only result viewing is enabled at this stage.

UTME Results Will Be Released in Batches

JAMB explained that the UTME exercise is still ongoing. Therefore, more results will be released gradually.

As marking and processing continue, candidates who have not seen their results should remain patient.

JAMB Arrests Candidates Over AI Result Manipulation

Meanwhile, JAMB confirmed it has taken strict action against exam malpractice.

The Board disclosed that:

  • Two candidates
  • One parent

are currently in custody for attempting to falsify UTME results using artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

JAMB described the act as a serious criminal offence.

Warning Against Result Falsification

JAMB issued a strong warning to all candidates. It cautioned them not to:

  • Alter SMS result messages
  • Misrepresent scores to parents or guardians
  • Use unofficial platforms to manipulate results

The Board stressed that anyone found guilty will face legal consequences.

JAMB Urges Integrity in Examination Process

Furthermore, JAMB urged candidates to maintain honesty throughout the admission process.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to:

  • Transparency
  • Credibility
  • Fairness in Nigeria’s admission system
