Nigeria booked a place in the Unity Cup final on Tuesday after defeating Zimbabwe 3–0 at The Valley Stadium in London. The Super Eagles produced a dominant display to settle recent rivalry tensions, with debutant Femi Azeez scoring twice and leading Nigeria into another title-deciding match. The victory preserved Nigeria’s perfect record in the competition and set up a final clash against either Jamaica or India on Saturday.
Super Eagles Respond to World Cup Qualification Frustration
Tuesday’s fixture carried extra significance following the tense encounters between both nations during the CAF World Cup qualifying campaign. Nigeria and Zimbabwe had previously played out two frustrating 1–1 draws, results that damaged Nigeria’s qualification ambitions.

Femi Azeez Announces Himself on International Debut
Millwall forward Femi Azeez wasted little time making an impact.
The debutant opened the scoring inside five minutes and immediately gave Nigeria momentum. He remained lively throughout the contest and doubled his tally shortly after the hour mark.
Azeez’s impressive display erased the disappointment of missing the Championship play-offs and marked a memorable start to his international career.

The result ensured the Super Eagles maintained their unbeaten and title-winning history in the Unity Cup, having lifted the trophy in all three previous editions.
Attention now shifts to Saturday’s final at The Valley Stadium, where Nigeria will attempt to defend the title once again against either Jamaica or India.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will return to action in the third-place play-off on the same day.
