Dangote Group has denied claims that Aliko Dangote fell out with Tony Elumelu over refinery funding, stating on Saturday that the viral story circulating online is false, misleading and unsupported by evidence, while reaffirming that no such incident occurred during the Dangote refinery project.

Dangote Group Rejects Viral Claims

Dangote Group described the allegations as fabricated and malicious. The company said the story misrepresents facts and misleads the public.

Anthony Chiejina, the Group’s spokesperson, stressed that neither Dangote nor the company made such statements. He urged anyone spreading the claims to provide verifiable evidence.

No Rift Between Dangote and Elumelu

The company dismissed reports of any disagreement between Dangote and Elumelu. It clarified that both business leaders maintain a cordial and longstanding relationship.

According to the statement, suggestions of a fallout remain entirely false. The Group insisted that no conflict ever existed.

Refinery Funding Claims Debunked

Dangote Group also rejected claims about the refinery’s financing. It stated clearly that Dangote did not rely on personal loans from friends.

The company emphasized that the Dangote Petroleum Refinery was not funded through informal borrowing. Instead, it followed structured financing methods.

The viral post had alleged that Elumelu promised $20 million support but later cut off communication. It also claimed that Femi Otedola and others raised funds for Dangote.

However, the Group firmly denied all such claims.

Concern Over Fake Content and AI Misuse

The company raised concerns about increasing misuse of Dangote’s identity online. It noted a growing trend of fake quotes and AI-generated content.

According to the statement, such actions damage reputation and may involve fraud. The Group warned against unauthorized use of Dangote’s name and image.

Legal Action Warning Issued

Dangote Group warned individuals and platforms to stop spreading false content immediately. It stated that failure to comply would attract legal consequences.

The company affirmed its readiness to protect its reputation through appropriate legal steps.

Commitment to Integrity and Development

Dangote Group reiterated its commitment to integrity and transparency. It also emphasized its focus on industrialization and economic growth across Africa.
