Ministers Strengthen Partnership on Infrastructure Development

During the meeting, both ministers discussed practical ways to support the FCT’s ongoing infrastructure renewal programme.

Mr. Oyedele commended Wike for prioritising the completion of abandoned projects. He noted that reviving stalled projects would unlock economic value and improve living conditions for residents.

The ministers agreed that stronger cooperation between their ministries would help deliver sustainable infrastructure and drive economic growth in the nation’s capital.

Tax Reform to Eliminate Multiple Taxation

The meeting also focused on plans to harmonise tax administration within the FCT.

The ministers agreed that the new tax reform law provides an opportunity to simplify tax collection. They stressed that eliminating multiple taxation would reduce the burden on taxpayers while improving government revenue.

Furthermore, they said the reforms would strengthen revenue administration and provide additional funding for infrastructure and public services.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to working together to implement policies that promote economic development in the Federal Capital Territory.

They expressed confidence that improved collaboration, efficient tax administration, and sustained infrastructure investment would accelerate development and enhance the quality of life for FCT residents.
