MAAUN, Bayero University Kano Sign MoU to Boost Academic and Research Collaboration

KANO, NigeriaMaryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) and Bayero University Kano (BUK) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Kano to strengthen academic and research collaboration. The agreement, signed by the leadership of both institutions, focuses on faculty and student exchange programmes, joint research initiatives, conferences, academic publications, and scholarship opportunities to expand innovation and improve higher education outcomes.

Partnership Targets Academic Growth and Innovation

According to MAAUN, the agreement creates a framework for stronger cooperation in areas of shared academic interest. The partnership will support staff and student exchanges while encouraging collaborative research and knowledge sharing.

In addition, both universities plan to organise conferences, seminars, and scholarly publications that promote innovation and strengthen academic excellence.

MAAUN Commends BUK’s Mentorship Role

During the ceremony, MAAUN management appreciated BUK for its continued support and mentorship. The university described the relationship as mutually beneficial and important for institutional development.

The MAAUN delegation included Vice President Administration, Habib Awais; Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Ahmad Maigari Ibrahim; Director of the Institute of Africa Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Abubakar Sadiq; and Director of Human Resource Directorate, Maimuna Bello.

Other attendees included Head of the International Office, Bashir Garba, assistant Janvi Haresh, Hayatuddeen M. Abdallah from Corporate Communications, and Baseerah Oyewo.

Upon arrival, the delegation received a formal welcome from BUK Vice Chancellor, Haruna Musa, Registrar Haruna Aliyu, and other principal officers before proceeding to the signing ceremony.

BUK Reaffirms Commitment to Support MAAUN

Speaking at the event, BUK Vice Chancellor, Haruna Musa, expressed appreciation for the visit and voiced confidence in the partnership’s success.

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continue serving as a mentor institution to MAAUN and stated that BUK remains ready to provide support whenever necessary.

Musa also praised MAAUN Founder, Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, for his contributions to education and human capital development. He noted that the founder’s investment continues to create positive impact across communities.

MAAUN Highlights Institutional Progress

In his remarks, MAAUN President, Mohammad Israr, presented an overview of the university’s development and highlighted its academic achievements.

He reiterated the institution’s commitment to delivering quality education and expanding opportunities through strategic partnerships.
