The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that its national convention will hold on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rainbow Event Center in Abuja, after the party faced access challenges to previously selected venues, including Eagle Square and Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
ADC Confirms New Convention Venue
The ADC said it chose the Rainbow Event Center to ensure a smooth and well-organised gathering. According to the party, the venue offers accessibility and convenience for delegates arriving from across Nigeria.
Moreover, the party noted that Abuja remains a strategic location for such a major political event. It added that the city provides a central meeting point for stakeholders nationwide.
Abuja Choice Reflects National Importance
The party stressed that hosting the convention in Abuja highlights its national significance. It also ensures that participants can travel easily from different regions.
In addition, the ADC described the venue as suitable for accommodating key party members, observers, and other stakeholders expected at the event.
Earlier Venue Requests Denied
Earlier on Monday, the ADC revealed that authorities denied it access to Eagle Square and the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. The party expressed concern over the development.
Furthermore, the ADC disclosed that it had written to the office of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, requesting permission to use Eagle Square. Although officials acknowledged the letter, they did not provide any formal response.
Convention to Proceed as Planned
Despite the challenges, the ADC confirmed that preparations remain on track. The party assured members that the convention will proceed as scheduled without disruption.
It also reiterated its commitment to delivering a successful and transparent event.
